About Mohamed Ali Hammoud
Dearborn has been my family’s home for over 50 years. I am a proud graduate of Dearborn Public Schools, and today I am raising my own son in this very district.
My professional experience as a practicing attorney has honed my ability to analyze complex issues and advocate for equitable solutions. I am running for School Board because our best days are ahead of us if we work together. I am ready to serve with hard work, integrity, and a deep love for this community.
A Catalyst for Change
My son attends Maples Elementary. In May of 2025, he came home from school with a red face because his third-floor classroom was simply too hot for him to focus. His clothes were damp, and there was no air conditioning or breeze in his room.
Students should not have to learn in this environment. That moment made me realize that waiting for change wasn’t enough. We are the third largest district in the state, and we need to start acting like it.
My Priorities for Dearborn Schools
For Our Students
Every child in Dearborn deserves a safe, healthy school and a modern learning environment. This means upgrading aging facilities, ensuring proper HVAC maintenance, and investing in whole-child development.
For Our Teachers
Our educators are the backbone of our schools. We must invest in them by providing competitive compensation, classroom resources, and ongoing professional development.
For Our Parents
Parents are partners in education, not spectators. Every family deserves transparency, and every decision should be made with our community at the table.
Fiscal Responsibility
Careful stewardship of taxpayer dollars is essential. We must focus our budgets on prioritizing classrooms over administration while ensuring long-term financial stability for the district.
