My Policies & Priorities for Dearborn Schools
Priority 1: For Our Students
Every child in Dearborn deserves a safe, healthy school and a modern learning environment that prepares them not just to pass tests, but to succeed in life. Our kids deserve opportunity, dignity, and real investment in their future. This means:
- Upgrading aging facilities.
- Ensuring healthy classrooms with proper HVAC and maintenance.
- Focusing on whole-child development, including academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Investing in resources that give every student a real shot at success.
Priority 2: For Our Teachers
Our educators are the backbone of our schools. I am committed to advancing policies that prioritize teacher support and investment. Great schools start with great teachers, and great teachers deserve the tools, respect, and working conditions to do their best work. We must invest in them, support them, and attract top talent to Dearborn. This means:
- Providing competitive compensation that respects their work.
- Supplying classroom resources so they do not have to spend their own money.
- Expanding professional development and growth opportunities.
- Giving teachers a voice in the decisions that affect their classrooms.
Priority 3: For Our Parents
Parents are partners in education, not spectators. I will champion open communication, regular parent forums, and a school board that actually listens to the families it serves. My fluency in English and Arabic also positions me to bridge communication gaps and represent the diverse voices within our district. This means:
- Every parent deserves a voice.
- Every family deserves transparency.
- Every decision should be made with our community at the table, not behind closed doors.
Priority 4: Fiscal Responsibility
As an attorney and board member for multiple organizations, I understand the importance of responsible budgeting and transparency. I am committed to advancing policies that prioritize fiscal responsibility while ensuring every student receives a high-quality education. This means:
- Practicing careful stewardship of taxpayer dollars.
- Building budgets that prioritize classrooms over administration.
- Committing to long-term planning that ensures financial stability for our district.
